Eventually you hear a metallic screeching noise that is a sure sign that your starters bendix mechanism, bearings or solenoid are kaput. When ordering a new starter be sure to check the rubber cap on the terminal for cracks which allows moisture in and it is a good idea to check your starters hardware as well. The girodisc system is a direct replacement for the oe disc on all 997.1 GT3/gt2's, both pccb and non-pccb equipped vehicles.
The central hat section of girodisc rotor is made from strictly u.s. Sourced 6061-t6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from girodisc own proprietary cast iron, poured in the usa and machined from start to finish in house at girodisc.
